Breakthrough Environmental Technologies to be Unveiled at Capitol Hill CleanTech Expo on July 16
Technology Investment Roundtable and CleanTech Expo '09 to be Broadcast Live via CleanTech TV
Washington, D.C. (June 30) – Breakthrough advances in environmental and energy efficiency technologies will be unveiled to Members of Congress, the media and the public at the Capitol Hill CleanTech Expo '09 on July 16 in the Rayburn House Office Building.
Technologies on display will include:
- Carbon sequestering technology that uses aerogels to turn CO2 gas into a solid for permanent sequestration
 - The world’s first renewable gasoline, from sunlight and CO2 algae-based fuels that emit approximately two-thirds less CO2 than petroleum-based fuels at scaleÂ
 - Weather-driven renewable energy assessment and forecasting for wind, solar and hydro power projectsÂ
 - High efficiency single-phase electric motors that achieve 66% energy savings over diesel fueled stationary enginesÂ
 - Utility-scale solar thermal power technologies with molten salt energy storage
 - Photo-bioreactor algae growing/harvesting (PBR) machine that produces fuel and food from CO2Â
 - Large-scale water treatment systems that can remove hormones and nano-scale impurities
 - Technologies that empower electric automakers, machine manufacturers and defense support industries to build cleaner electric driven or generating machines
  - Pre-combustion treatment technologies for coalÂ
 - High efficiency conductors for use in electrical transmission grid systems

The day-long event will be open to the public and will feature a wide range of new environmental technologies and applications, according to Jim Sims, President and CEO of the Western Business Roundtable. The Western Business Roundtable is co-hosting the Expo with the NextGen Energy Council.
The Expo also will feature a CleanTech Investment Roundtable Session, where financial experts and news media representatives will discuss the latest trends and issues in the burgeoning clean tech investment arena.Â
